Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler is used to fill gouges and holes in split, damaged or rotted exterior or interior woods. It is weather, water, and rot resistant. Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler is also effective as a wood adhesive where you can anchor screws and secure loose joints in furniture. Q. Can Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler be stained?
Staining High Performance Wood Filler is not recommended. Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler accepts stain differently than wood does. It is unlikely that a close color match will be achieved. For repairs that require and exact stain match, use Minwax® Stainable Wood Filler.
Q. How is Minwax Wood Putty® different from Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler?
Unlike Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler, Minwax Wood Putty® is a non-hardening putty designed to cosmetically fill nail holes, joints and other minor surface imperfections. Additionally, Minwax Wood Putty® is color-matched to the Minwax® Wood Finish™ stain line. Minwax® High Performance Wood Filler is a heavy-duty filler that repairs damaged or rotted wood.
WARNING! Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes may cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children or pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous substances requires the use of proper protective equipment such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) and proper containment and cleanup. For more information, call the National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD (in US) or contact your local health authority.
